Kevin Halewood has had deep ties to the detailing and auto trim industry for over 42 years. Throughout his career, he has reached out to several organizations to promote growth, awareness, and networking for the detailing industry, including the International Detailing Association. He seems to be a walking encyclopedia of knowledge when it comes to professional detailers and suppliers for the past 22 years.
Kevin's professional skills are exemplary. He is the only industry professional that reached out in the beginning of the IDA with complimentary print exposure to include membership applications, publishing members articles, and classes during the MTE tradeshow. Most importantly, he offered IDA free booth space and private rooms to host our industry speakers during Mobile Tech Expo for past and present. He was one of the first IDA believers to realize professional detailers and suppliers need their own platform to promote our industry. His vision was not to rely on the International Carwash Association (ICA) and be a "step child" in the industry. He immediately volunteered his personal time, newspapers, and tradeshow to get the IDA off the ground domestically and internationally without asking for compensation.
Kevin started Sun King Publishing in 1987 to bring awareness to automotive trimmers. Years later, a newspaper was exclusively dedicated for professional detailers and suppliers. Sun King Publishing recognized the importance
of the IDA by outlining our mission in print, thus lending legitimacy and the avenue to communicate to our present and future members.
