Class of 2021

Greg

Greg Swett, CD-SV

President, Classic Appreciation World Class Auto Detailing

Greg Swett began detailing when he was 14, riding his bike around the neighborhood and washing peoples’ cars in their driveway.  He often learned from these early customers how to detail the car.  His ability to listen to his customers and ability to provide custom services to his client is a trait he has carried with him through a career in Detailing that has spanned more than 35 years.  He started his company Classic Appreciation in May 1985 while in college at Oakland University.  The company is still going strong today.  A passionate “car guy”, Greg has built a business taking care of car guy cars and by surrounding himself with like-minded employees.

Classic Appreciation has detailed over 60,000 cars in its nearly 35 years of business, delighting his lifelong and new customers with his attention to service, detail, and being “the resource” for all things car care.  Greg has developed many innovative tools, systems, and procedures that have revolutionized the entire detailing industry, including a 30-step Complete Detailing System for exceptional results.

An advocate of education in detailing, Greg has served on the boards and committees of several detailing associations, Concourse advisory boards, and regional car wash associations in an effort to share his knowledge and to gain useful insights on how to take Classic Appreciation to the next level.  He has always been an active participant in the industry, and a quiet but very visible presence in supporting bringing detailers together.  Never too busy to help a fellow detailer, he willingly has given of his time and talents to coach and mentor other shop owners.  Greg served on the IDA Board for six years, and one term as President of the IDA.  You will not find a better operator, more ethical businessman, or better friend to the detailing industry than Greg Swett.
