The International Detailing Association is introducing a new series of webinars covering Business Development topics.  Webinars are open to IDA Members and Non-Members alike.  The webinars take place on the first Friday of each month at 2pm Central.

Speaker Bio:
Chris Racana has always had a knack for sales and a love for cars.  Born into a Chicago-based family business importing furniture from Italy for three generations, Chris developed his B2B and B2C sales skills as the business evolved from procurement for large catalog houses to one of the first direct importers in the eCommerce space.  Working with both businesses and high-value clients, Chris brought the family business great success in the 21st century, growing the operation into the digital age.

After decades in the furniture world, Chris decided to re-focus on the most important thing in life — happiness.  After making the hard decision to close the family business, he moved from Chicago to a small town in Wisconsin to focus on his wife and young twin daughters.  There, Chris made the decision to let happiness guide the second act of his professional career, too.  Remembering that some of his most fond memories were of sharing time with his late brother and late father detailing their cars and boats, he thought of his decades-long friendship with Dr. Beasley’s owner and chemist Jim Lafeber.

Chris reached out to Jim to talk about the detailing industry and to see where there may be opportunities for him to turn his passion into a new career.  It wasn’t long before Chris and Jim both realized that Dr. Beasley’s was where Chris truly belonged.

Joining the Dr. Beasley’s team as Director of Success in January 2021, Chris has brought his decades of sales knowledge into the detailing universe, sharing his wealth of tips and techniques with the Dr. Beasley’s Authorized Detailer network as well as their “Future of Detailing” clinic.

It’s safe to say Chris found his happiness at Dr. Beasley’s — and now he wants to help detailers find theirs.

Session Description:
Selling is a useful talent for anyone to possess.  How to make a convincing argument, how to negotiate, and how to close are beneficial even outside the business world.  Want a great job?  Want new equipment at work?  Want to get married?  Want to get your kids to listen to you?  You better know how to sell.


Certified Detailers - Attending a webinar earns Certified Detailers 1 credit towards certification maintenance.  You must check-in to the live event to earn your credit.

Technology - Registrants will receive access information to stream the webinar via YouTube.  Alternatively, the session will also be streamed directly to the IDA members-only Facebook Group (request to join here), and members can watch the stream in the group.  Registration through the IDA website is still highly encouraged for each session.  Certified Detailers are responsible for checking in to the live webinar to receive 1 Certification Maintenance credit.  If you did not register but watch the session in the Facebook Group, you must manually input the credit into your Certification Journal.

Webinar Recording - If you are unable to attend the live webinar, members will be able to access the webinar recording from the archives webpage.

Price - Free for members and $25 for non-members.  Non-members who join within 30 days of the webinar may apply the registration fee to membership dues* (join the IDA here).
