Frequently Asked Questions |
MembershipOperators, Suppliers (Distributors and Manufacturers), and Institutional members can add employees to their existing company accounts with just a few clicks. This makes it cost-efficient and convenient for everyone on your team to access prime member benefits, receive a discount on the IDA Certification program, and take their professional detailing skills to the next level. The IDA member logo is located here. If you need the IDA logo in a different format (i.e. for signage or other marketing purposes) email us at info@the-ida.com. CD, SV, and RIT digital logos are automatically emailed to you upon completion of each level of certification; if you have misplaced your digital logo, email us at info@the-ida.com and we will resend it to you. Your member packet will include a certificate of membership for display (your company name is printed on the certificate); a copy of the IDA Code of Ethics for display; an ID badge with hole-punch for clipping to a lanyard or keychain; a complimentary set of iron-on patches (one IDA logo patch and one Member stripe patch); and an IDA member decal/sticker. Information from the “Professional Information” section of Operator and Operator Employee member profiles is synced to the consumer-facing website, DetailingNeaby.com, on a weekly basis. Please allow approximately one week for your IDA profile field changes to be reflected on your DetailingNearby.com listing. (Note: DetailingNearby.com listings are based on the Address fields in the "Professional Information" section of your member profile. If you leave those fields blank, your listing will not appear on DetailingNearby.com.)
CertificationGood news! We have a full outline of the program and how to complete it accessible on our website, including a helpful video: click here. We also have a certification-specific FAQ here: Certification FAQ. You may also contact our office for further questions/clarification at info@the-ida.com. We have a helpful step-by-step instructional page (including all the relevant links) located here: Certification Maintenance.
Transactions & OrdersFirst, log in to your profile in the IDA website. Then click on the ‘Welcome, Your Name’ tab in the top right corner. In the drop-down menu, select ‘Invoices’. You will be taken to your transaction history page. It defaults to show ‘Open’ invoices to be paid, but you may change the ‘Filter by Status’ field to ‘Processed’ for paid invoice receipts that are pending processing, or to ‘Shipped/Closed’ for paid invoice receipts that have been processed and closed on our side. Don’t forget that you receive a complimentary decal and ID badge in your annual membership packet. If you need a replacement badge or would like additional decals/badges for display, you may purchase them in the IDA store here. You also receive one complimentary set of patches. If you would like to purchase IDA logo or Member stripe patches, log in to your profile, click on the ‘Groups’ menu item, and then go to your member type group. The logo and member patches are available there for purchase. To purchase certification patches, log in to your profile, click on the ‘Groups’ menu item, and then go to the highest certification level group that you’ve earned (CD, SV, or RIT). The certification patches available to you for purchase are linked in that group for you. Alternatively, you can contact us at info@the-ida.com for assistance with creating a patch order invoice. Packets and orders are mailed within one week of your payment (5 business days). If you live in the United States, your packet may take up to two (2) weeks to reach you after mailing. If you are international, then
your member packet may take anywhere from four (4) weeks to eight (8) weeks to reach you after mailing, depending on where you live. We mail member packets to the primary address on file, and orders are mailed to the designated
Shipping Address. Please be very careful and thorough in entering your address information to avoid a delay or lost package. You can review and edit your mailing information on your profile here. NOTICE: Due to a hybrid staff schedule, there may be mailing delays. Please be patient, and contact the Central Office (info@the-ida.com) if you have questions about your mailing. Patches can be sewn on to your shirt, or they can be ironed on to your shirt; for extra security, many members do both, ironing the patch on and then sewing around the edge. To iron on the patch, place the patch(es) on your shirt where you wish them to stay, plastic side down – double-check they are straight and the shirt is flat and unwrinkled beneath the patch. Wait for your iron to fully heat, then simply press the iron down over the patch for approximately 30 seconds (or the recommended ironing time for the material your shirt is made of). No need to move the iron around, just fully cover the patch with moderate downward pressure. Most members place their patches on the sleeves of their shirt over the upper arm, or over the left side of the chest area. The preferred order of patches is the IDA logo patch on top, the member stripe patch below, and then CD followed by SV and RIT patch stripes underneath (see a photo here). |
