IDA Global Survey: Standard Terminology Variances

Wednesday, December 22, 2021   (0 Comments)

Hello IDA Members,

The IDA established an Industry Standards Task Force earlier this year.  The goal of the Industry Standards Task Force is to gather global differences in detailing terminology and other differences within the detailing process as it is completed around the world, so that we may create a comprehensive guide to offer to members; let's all get on the same page and understand each other better!

We all deal with the same vehicle issues and defects through our detailing work.  But, a specific paint defect in Australia might be referred to by a different term than the same defect in the UK, in Norway, in the USA, etc.  The Task Force will be putting out regular surveys to gather information from our global network of members.  This first survey consists of five (5) photos of exterior paint issues.  To complete the survey, please examine the issue/defect in the photo and mark the terms that YOU use to describe the issue.  Please be sure to enter your country/location at the end of the survey.

Members, check your email for the survey link!
