Action Required: Update Your IDA Member Profile by March 25

Tuesday, March 15, 2022   (0 Comments)

Hello IDA Operator Members,

We are almost ready for the full launch of our consumer-facing website, DetailingNearby.com! This site will showcase who the IDA is, provide consumers with knowledge and tips to maintain their vehicles between professional details, and most importantly, help consumers connect with you, our members and Certified Detailers, for your professional detailing services!

With that in mind, the most important aspect of this site is the member locator directory and map. Consumers will be able to search by location and service to find IDA members and Certified Detailers near them who can provide the necessary services. We want them to be able to easily find you! But that means we need your help to make this the most accurate professional detailing directory in the world!

So at this time, we are asking you to update your IDA member profile, since the directory will pull information directly from there. IMPORTANT: Since the map requires a physical address in order to place your pin, you must include an address on your profile if you wish to be included in the directory.

Also note, information will only be pulled from "Operator" member profiles. The consumer site's directory will be based on company (rather than individual members), so "Operator - Employee" members will NOT have individual profiles but will be listed on the main company page (along with their certification level, if applicable).

Following is a list of the fields that will be included in your profile on the consumer website, along with the section in your current member profile where you can find and update the information:

Account Information

  1. Email Address

Personal Information

  1. Full Name (first and last)

Professional Information

  1. Organization (company name)
  2. Your Title (i.e. owner, manager, etc.)
  3. Website (include http:// or https://)
  4. Address and Address Cont. (include unit or suite #, if applicable)
  5. City/Town
  6. Country
  7. State/Location
  8. Postal/Zip Code
  9. Phone Number (include area code)
  10. Specialties (New options!)
  11. Locations (if you operate multiple shop sites or serve multiple areas)
  12. Hours of Operation (New!)

As you clean up your profile, keep the "ABCs" in mind:

  1. Accurate: Your pin on the map will help consumers locate your shop or primary location. This pin is based directly on how you enter the address in your profile, so make sure it is accurate (double check spelling). Be sure to list the correct street designation (i.e. Street, Ave., Blvd., etc.) and include a unit or suite number, if applicable.
  2. Best: As in, the information you list in your profile should be the best way to get in touch with you or your business, whether that's your mobile phone or the main business line, your professional email address or the business's info account, or your main business address. If you are a mobile operator and don't have a physical shop address, keep in mind that whatever address you enter into the employer address field (even if it is your personal address) will be visible to the public.
  3. Current: Data will be pulled from the member database on a weekly basis. If any information changes, be sure to update your profile as soon as possible so the directory always is pulling the most up-to-date information about your business.

For the first full data import to the consumer website, we will be using the data as entered by Friday, March 25, 2022, so please be sure to update your profile as needed by that date. After that, we will be pulling and updating data in the directory on a weekly basis.
