Patches can be sewn on to your shirt, or they can be ironed on to your shirt; for extra security, many members do both, ironing the patch on and then sewing around the edge. To iron on the patch, place the patch(es) on your shirt
where you wish them to stay, plastic side down – double-check they are straight and the shirt is flat and unwrinkled beneath the patch. Wait for your iron to fully heat, then simply press the iron down over the patch for
approximately 30 seconds (or the recommended ironing time for the material your shirt is made of). No need to move the iron around, just fully cover the patch with moderate downward pressure.
Most members place their patches on the sleeves of their shirt over the upper arm, or over the left side of the chest area. The preferred order of patches is the IDA logo patch on top, the member stripe patch below, and then
CD followed by SV and RIT patch stripes underneath (see a photo here).
