Christian Guidi Headshot

International Detailing Association (IDA): How did you get into the detailing industry?
Christian Guidi (CG): Like most people, I approached this industry as an enthusiast. In reality, my passion for detailing was born as a child, from my father’s teaching.

IDA: Tell us more about your business.
CG:
I started as a car washer on weekends, while I was studying in high school. The arrival of detailing in Italy, the development of guides and information on the web rekindled my enthusiasm. So, I began to deepen the aspect of polishing and, in general, of car care in every detail. The desire to learn and improve my skills led me to do the first detailing jobs inside a luxury car dealer in Milan. All this wasn't enough! So my fate introduced me to Fra-Ber s.r.l, the company for which I’m currently working as a trainer. This position allowed me to combine my passion for car detailing with work.

IDA: In what products or services does your company specialize?
CG: Fra-Ber s.r.l. is a growing company oriented on production, development and selling chemicals for carwashes and car detailers.

IDA: What do you think is the most important factor to being successful in the detailing industry?
CG: I think that one of the most important key points in the detailing industry is to be able to create a good network between different companies that turn around car detailing but also push the right education in order to extend and improve knowledge.

IDA: Are there any awards/certifications/accomplishments that you or your business has earned and would like to share with us?
CG: Fra-Ber is a company that has a registered patent on organic decontamination thanks to active enzymes of plant origin. In this period we are doing training courses called Innovacar Materclass ( https://masterclass.innovacar.it/ ) whose aim is to improve skills in the car detaining field.

IDA: What is the best advice you ever received?
CG: Do what you love doing.

IDA: What tips do you have for the new detailer? For the experienced detailer?
CG:
For the beginners, I suggest investing time in tests and experiments.
For the experts, I suggest to strive to always improve their knowledge, day by day.

IDA: What is your funniest business moment?
CG: When I was polishing a car I didn’t realize it was so late and I got locked inside our test area!

IDA: Why did you decide to get involved with the IDA?
CG: I think that IDA's philosophy reflects my point of view: the goal to improve car detailing could be reached thanks to sharing information between people, detailers, and followers also coming from different countries.
