The IDA Certification Committee—with Board, RIT, and international Chapter support—has decided to hold two annual Global SV Weeks, with the first taking place earlier this month, April 13–19. The second is scheduled for October 12–18.
Not only will this be more convenient for Recognized Independent Trainers (RITs), who are required to host an event during one of the two weeks or risk losing their RIT status, but it will also make it easier for detailers looking to become skills validated,
who may need to travel a considerable distance to a testing location or take time off work. Now, they will have several options throughout the year from which to pick (along with regularly scheduled SV events throughout the year).
April's Global SV Week was intended to focus on specialty exams, whereas the October event will be more SV-centric, but all certifications will be offered throughout both weeks (depending on the RIT; check the event schedule before registering).
In total, the IDA welcomed 14 new certificants over the course of the week. Thank you to all RITs who shared their time and hosted exams during this international event! Congratulations to all the new Certified Detailers and Skills Validated detailers—what
an exciting accomplishment to set yourself apart within the industry!
