Training the Pros: Hands-On Events, Certifications, and Real-World Experience

Justin the Supply Guy, working alongside ImageFX, believes training is one of the most important investments a detailer can make. Great tools and chemicals matter — but it’s the knowledge and skill behind them that produce real results.

That’s why a major focus of Justin’s work in the industry is professional education and hands-on training. From shop owners to new technicians, a wide range of training events, brand-specific classes, and IDA certification opportunities have been hosted and supported over the years.

These trainings are practical and focused on real-world application. The goal isn’t just to hand out samples — it’s to teach techniques, build confidence, and help detailers run more profitable businesses.

Past Trainings We’ve Hosted

Over the years, Justin has helped organize and host a wide range of training opportunities for professional detailers across Colorado and beyond. These events have brought together instructors, brand partners, and working professionals who want to improve their skills and their businesses.

Rupes Marine & RV Training

One of the most unique events hosted was a Marine and RV paint correction training with Rupes.

This hands-on class focused on large-format polishing, gel coat correction, and polishing pad selection for boats, RVs, and toy haulers.

Attendees learned:

How to approach oxidized gel coat and fiberglass restoration
Polisher and pad selection for large panels and curved surfaces
The differences between marine gel coat and automotive clear coat
Time-saving techniques and workflows for oversized jobs

This event attracted attendees from across the Western United States and even a few who flew in from other regions. It remains one of the most comprehensive marine and RV detailing trainings offered outside major metro markets.

Paint Correction Bootcamps

Multiple paint correction training events have been hosted featuring both in-house instruction and guest educators from leading brands.

These workshops covered topics such as:

Surface preparation, decontamination, and inspection
Compound, polish, and pad selection for different paint types
Techniques for DA, rotary, and gear-driven polishers
How to assess paint hardness and adjust correction methods
Live demonstrations on real vehicles
Pricing and packaging paint correction services

These events are particularly valuable for detailers looking to move beyond basic services and into higher-margin paint correction work.

P&S and 3D Product Trainings

Strong relationships with brands like P&S Detail Products and 3D Car Care have made it possible to host multiple product-focused training events.

These hands-on classes included:

Using soaps, degreasers, interior cleaners, and dressings effectively
Foam cannon, bucket wash, and rinseless or waterless wash techniques
Correction and protection systems like 3D ONE and P&S Clarity Creme
Interior detailing methods with proper dilution ratios
Integrating ceramic coatings from each brand into service offerings

One recent training event drew detailers from across the country, including attendees from the Front Range, the Pacific Northwest, and even the East Coast. When the training is practical and the instructors are knowledgeable, professionals are willing to travel.

IDA Certification Events

Justin is proud to support International Detailing Association (IDA) certification and professionalism within the industry.

Training events have included:

Certified Detailer written exams
Skills Validation Testing (SVT) with IDA-recognized evaluators

These events help detailers prepare for certification while strengthening their technical skills and credibility in the industry.

Professional certification plays an important role in raising the standard of the detailing industry, and efforts continue to make these opportunities accessible to professionals throughout the region.

Ceramic Coating Trainings

Training sessions have also been hosted for ceramic coating installation, covering surface preparation, application technique, and long-term success with coatings.

These workshops have included systems such as:

P&S Inspiration
3D Ceramic Coating
Nasiol Ceramic Systems

These events help installers improve their preparation processes, refine application methods, and understand how to properly present coating packages to customers.

Future training opportunities will include advanced application workshops, warranty compliance training, and dealership-focused coating programs.

Why We Train

Training has never been about simply selling products. The goal has always been to help professionals become more capable and confident in their work.

A well-trained detailer is:

More confident in their process
More profitable in their business
More professional in how they serve their clients
More likely to succeed long term

Whether someone operates a one-person mobile business or manages a large dealership reconditioning department, training provides the tools needed to grow.

New training opportunities are always being planned and scheduled. If you’ve never attended one of these events, consider joining the next one and see why professionals from across Colorado and beyond continue to participate.
