Who Is Justin Krauss?

Justin Krauss is the founder of Western Colorado Detail Supply, but his story didn’t start there. It began behind a counter — selling retail detailing products, listening to what customers needed, and learning what worked in the real world.

Over time, that experience evolved into a hands-on detailing career, the launch of a Ceramic Pro Elite dealership, and ultimately, one of the fastest-growing professional supply companies in the Rocky Mountain region.

🧼 From Retail Counter to Detail Bay

Justin started in the detailing industry by working in retail car care supplies, helping DIYers and professionals alike. Day after day, he heard the same frustrations — detailers struggling to find the right products, tools, or support from their vendors.

That constant exposure to real-world detailing challenges laid the foundation for what would come next: getting into the work himself.

🏁 Launching a Detailing Business

After gaining experience with products, tools, and customer needs, Justin opened his own professional detailing shop — and quickly built a reputation for quality, efficiency, and trust.

He didn’t just wash cars. He developed systems. He trained techs. He built packages. And most importantly, he built relationships.

His work in the field soon led to an opportunity to join one of the most recognized coating networks in the world.

Justin’s shop became one of the first in the region to achieve Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer status — a designation that required the highest level of quality, service, and professionalism.

Through this experience, he became certified in:

• Paint Correction and Surface Prep

He also earned:

• IDA Certified Detailer (CD)

• IDA Skills Validated (SV)

Operating a high-volume ceramic and PPF shop gave Justin a deeper understanding of process efficiency, training, and the importance of product support — things that many distributors just didn’t offer.

📦 From Detailer to Distributor

With his background in retail, real-world detailing, and coatings, Justin recognized a gap in the market: professional detailers needed a better supplier.

Not just someone who sold bottles and boxes, but someone who:

• Understood how the products actually worked in the field

• Could help train staff and troubleshoot issues

• Would carry the brands professionals trusted

• And would actually show up when needed

That realization led to the founding of Western Colorado Detail Supply, a company built specifically to support the working detailer, dealership, and shop owner.

Even as the business has grown, Justin remains deeply involved. He’s not just an owner — he’s also the guy who:

• Mixes up samples for customers in the back room

• Delivers products in person across the Western Slope

• Hosts and teaches at training events

• Helps mobile detailers build out their first rig

• Takes after-hours calls to solve product or process issues

With 20+ years of e-commerce and logistics experience, he also brings modern business operations and national shipping capabilities to a traditionally local industry.

🎓 A Passion for Training

Justin’s passion for hands-on training has shaped everything Western Colorado Detail Supply does. Under his leadership, the company has hosted:

• Rupes Marine & RV Paint Correction Training

• Paint Correction Bootcamps

• P&S and 3D Product Trainings

• IDA Certification Events (CD & SVT)

• Ceramic Coating Workshops, including Nasiol and others

🏕️ Life Outside the Shop

Justin lives in Fruita, Colorado, just west of Grand Junction. He’s a proud:

• Grandfather

Outside of work, you’ll find him:

• Camping with his family

• Riding Colorado’s epic mountain and gravel bike trails

• Learning to play pickleball with his youngest child

• Exploring the outdoors any chance he gets
