IDA Member Spotlight: Rahul Dahiya, CD-SV

Each month we feature a Member Spotlight.  This month we're talking with, Rahul Dahiya, CD-SV, owner of Shield and Sheen in Robbinsville, New Jersey.

International Detailing Association (IDA): How did you get into the detailing industry?
Rahul Dahiya (RD): My passion for detailing started with my first car in high school. I was hooked when I saw each detailing issue with that first car. And then teaching myself how to resolve those issues with different products and tools was so rewarding. As I gained experience and knowledge I started assisting friends and neighbors.

IDA: Tell us a bit about your business.
RD: As I mentioned before, assisting friends and neighbors lead to bigger things. I would detail part time over the weekends and then slowly gained a decent customer base. This soon transitioned into Shield and Sheen. Where we would detail part time and also received professional training. We now have a fixed location in Central New Jersey.

IDA: In what products or services does your company specialize?
RD: We provided detailing services, ceramic coating, and paint protection film installation. Our store carries 20 different brands of detailing products and tools.

IDA: What is the best advice you ever received?
RD: Provide a detailing service based on your customer's needs, not your own (detailers) needs.
 

IDA: Why did you decide to get involved with the IDA?
RD: To further educate myself and to be part of an organization which is helping to bring the entire detailing industry to a higher level.

IDA: Has your involvement with the IDA affected your business and your career?
RDBeing part of the IDA has given me the opportunity to learn from detailing industry leaders.

I have serious doubts about the integrity of this person. I got my Tesla Model Y ppf wrapped by Rahul in Nov 2020. Today it's Jan 2022 and he still owes some followup pending work on my car and he is yet to return my Tesla Emblems. He would not return my calls. He moved his workshop so I can't contact him in anyways.. I hope IDA can intervene and help a genuine customer.
