IDA at Mobile Tech Expo Orlando

Every year, the IDA has a major presence at the Mobile Tech Expo (MTE) in Orlando and, most recently, in Las Vegas.  With MTE Orlando 2020 just around the corner, be sure to mark January 30th – February 1st on your calendar as days to visit sunny Orlando and come visit the IDA.  The IDA booth will be buzzing with activity throughout the weekend with refreshments, loads of information about the association, and a bunch of friendly faces of volunteers there to answer any questions you might have.

As mentioned above, we rely quite heavily on volunteers at the IDA booth.  This year, the IDA has introduced a new initiative to give back to those who are giving their time at the booth as a volunteer, by giving away free IDA caps to everyone that volunteers.  As the show runs all day Friday and Saturday, there is a lot of time spent at the booth, and the time and commitment from IDA members to assist at the booth has been a substantial contribution to the success of the association over the years.

Some of the events the IDA is hosting at MTE Orlando that everyone should be aware of include:

• IDA Education Track – The IDA will have a designated education room for those of you who are planning on attending the Education Day portion of MTE on Thursday.  Come attend educational sessions from some of the top individuals in the detailing industry, connect with old friends, and meet new people in the industry.  Remember, attendance at education sessions such as these counts toward IDA Recertification credits for Certified Detailers.

• CD Testing – The IDA will be hosting Certified Detailer testing at the IDA Certification Event – Phase I on Friday morning at MTE Orlando.  The event is intended to sit individuals down with an IDA Recognized Trainer that will provide an informational presentation, proctor the exams, and provide results at the event.  There is no better way to go about getting the CD certification than to spend a couple hours with a Recognized Trainer and spending time discussing detailing related topics with peers.

• SV Testing – The IDA will be hosting Skills Validated testing at MTE Orlando on Saturday morning and continuing on throughout the day.  This is a hands-on evaluation that will test individuals on their physical practices and knowledge of detailing procedures in the presence of an IDA Recognized Trainer.  Given that this phase of testing must be done in person with an IDA Recognized Trainer, there is no better time to make the decision and get your Skills Validated certification.

• IDA Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation – The IDA will be hosting the Annual Business Meeting and announcing the winners of the IDA Awards.  This 2-hour reception is one that you won’t want to miss!  Come get some food, have a few drinks, and celebrate with fellow members where the IDA has come from, where the IDA is now, and where the IDA is going.
