An Update on IDA Participation at Mobile Tech Expo Las Vegas

Dear IDA Members,

Here we are in the third quarter of 2021 and still dealing with COVID affecting our lives and businesses.  Everyday life was beginning to feel more “normal” and then, bam, we’re back to spiking COVID numbers, mask mandates, and business closures due to severe staff shortages for a variety of reasons.  As a detailing community, we remain committed to doing what’s best for our members including offering a variety of virtual networking, business and education resources.

It was wonderful to see those that attended SDC in June, and it was our hope to gather in person at MTE Vegas this week.  Unfortunately, with the rapidly rising COVID numbers and the increasing number of individuals unwilling to travel or be confined with large numbers of people, it became evident that the IDA Board of Directors had to again make the difficult decision to not be formally represented at MTE Vegas.  Quite honestly, we couldn’t even find enough volunteers to staff the booth for two days under the current conditions.  We continue to value our relationship with Sheldon and those at Mobile Tech Expo, and wish them and the attendees a safe and productive show.

We still anticipate holding an IDA Meet & Greet at SEMA on Tuesday, November 2, but that, too, is subject to change as we get closer to the date and monitor the COVID situation.  And, we are planning full steam ahead for Mobile Tech Orlando, January 27-29, 2022, at Rosen Shingle Creek.
