We will be hosting a complete IDA Certification Event - Phase I & II (CD-SV) at Mobile Tech Expo Las Vegas (September 5-7, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV)!  In order to sign up for the certification event, you must be registered to attend the expo on MTE's website, mobiletechexpo.com.

Phase I (CD) certification evaluates and affirms an experienced detailer's technical knowledge and proficiency.  It consists of 10 exams, 10-20 questions each, in these subject areas: Equipment, Chemicals, Windows, Trim & Metal, Floors & Carpets, Seats, Paint Correction & Protection, Wheels & Tires, Prep Wash/Wash Bay, Detailing Terminology, and Safety & Compliance.  Successful completion of the ten written exams will grant the detailer the title of IDA Certified Detailer (CD).

The IDA Certification Event - Phase I (CD) will be held on Thursday, September 5 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Phase II (SV) tests represent the four primary categories that each candidate must demonstrate their “hands on” ability to perform (Wash Bay/Prep, Interior, Exterior Correction, and Finishing Steps).  Successful completion will award the detailer a title of IDA Certified Detailer, Skills Validated (CD-SV).

Note: To take the SV exams, the applicant must have already completed Phase I Certification (either prior to or at the show), having passed the 10 written exams, to fulfill the classification of Certified Detailer.

The IDA Certification Event - Phase II (SV) will be held on Friday, September 6 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Space is limited!

Testing sessions are available in the following two-hour increments:  

• 10am-12pm: Open
• 12-2pm: Open
• 2-4pm: Open
