Titled like a rock concert “European Tour” is probably the right vibe for this most recent trip. I don’t know how they, Rock stars, do it. Hopping city to city, performing, engaging the audience, and wrapping it all up just to do it again in a different place tomorrow is no easy task.
The Rockstar part of the trip for us was the MEMBERS!! They are the real rockstars in this story.
This is a very exciting time for the IDA! We continue to grow in the United States as well as around the world. So, this year we decided to really put the “I” in the IDA with an “International Mission” to show up and support our chapters and their members in the UK, France, and Norway.
The trip took place from July 17 – July 28. I was super fortunate to be Traveling with Alan Medcraf “International Detailing Rockstar”. Alan has his own very successful detailing business in Scotland (AMDetails) and is an IDA CD, SV, RT (Recognized Trainer) covering all parts of Europe and beyond. He conducted certification and SV skills validated sessions at each of the countries we visited.
Part of “My Mission” was to represent us at WaxStock, a huge event in England. Where we were able to have some great face to face time with our UK Board and our members this was so exciting!! In France, we took part in formalizing our new France Chapter, which was recently approved for operation. In Norway, we did certification and SV and spent time with the Norway Chapter representatives working on building their already existing chapter.
Like I did in my letter this month, I want to thank EVERYONE that made The 2019 IDA European Tour possible. I mean everyone, the individual countries and chapters for all the coordination and amazing hospitality, the office staff at the IDA that made all the arrangements and lead the event advertising and registration, the IDA Board of Directors for having the foresight and commitment to our members to put their faith in Alan and I to carry this super important initiative forward. And lastly, I want to thank all the members who came out, disrupted their businesses and lives to spend time meeting us, furthering their education and accomplishing the highly impressive result of Certification and Skills Validation!
I take my hat off to all everyone that supported this trip!! Thank you so much!!
A lot of folks reached out to me in person and on social media. Thank you for all your comments and connections. The IDA and its chapters are member run organizations. With that being said, I encourage every member to get involved, even if it is in a small way.
One of the best things you can do to get involved is raise your hand by letting us know. Simply click here!
