IDA Website Spotlight: Consumer Resources Hub

By now, we are sure you have seen that our consumer-facing website, DetailingNearby.com, is up and running! We recently held a members-only forum, during which the project leads discussed the background of the website, its current status, and future goals, and they also answered members’ questions about the project. If you missed it, a recording is now available to watch at your convenience.

One of the biggest takeaways from the forum is that, in order for this project to be a long-term success, we need as many members as possible to get involved! Luckily, there are many opportunities available for you to contribute your expertise:

  • Submit a blog post or video: Contribute consumer-focused content to establish yourself as a subject matter expert.
  • Submit a customer testimonial: Share positive reviews from your customers that show how your status as an IDA member or Certified Detailer sets you apart from other non-professional detailers.
  • Submit a glossary term: Help educate the public on technical detailing terms to help build an informed consumer-base.
  • Download the DetailingNearby.com digital badge and printable business cards: Add the digital badge to your own site, social media, email signature, and marketing materials. We have provided step-by-step instructions for you to download the graphics and link them on your site. Also, keep a printed stack of business cards on hand at your shop or mobile unit to give to all your customers.
  • Link back to the website: By providing a link to DetailingNearby.com on your own website, you can help improve the site's ranking in search engines. While we will also be investing in paid SEO efforts, back-linking is one of the most important steps you can take as a member to help increase the site's reach.
  • Edit your profile: Keep the "Professional Information" section of your IDA profile up-to-date so we can ensure that the site remains an accurate, trustworthy resource, and so that consumers can easily find and contact your business! Remember, any information you include in the Professional Information section will be visible to consumers, so only fill out information you would like publicly displayed. Data is transferred from Operator and Operator Employee member profiles to the consumer website on a weekly basis (typically Thursdays or Fridays), so please allow up to 7-8 days turnaround time for changes on your member profile to be reflected on DetailingNearby.com.
  • Follow @DetailingNearby on Social Media: Find us on Instagram and Facebook, and encourage your customers to do the same! Share posts with your followers to help us reach a wider audience and increase awareness of professional detailing and the IDA.
