Small Business Financing: Access to Capital – Growth and Transition

Date & Time: Friday, September 6, 2024 at 2:00 pm CDT

Presented By:

Jennifer Fern Peterson
Vice President and Senior SBA Specialist, KeyBank

Speaker Bio:
Jennifer is an SBA specialist who works with businesses in the Oregon and SW Washington markets.  She is passionate about delivering creative and intelligent financing solutions and works closely with business owners throughout the entire SBA process…beginning to end.

Jennifer is a strong proponent of the SBA program and the positive impact SBA solutions have on privately owned businesses, job creation, and local economies.  Access to capital is essential to long term success, and Jennifer feels honored to be a part of helping to make a business owner’s dreams come true.

Jennifer started her banking career as a teller in 1996 and steadily worked her way up in the industry.  She has served in various roles in a wide variety of departments including corporate business trust, consumer lending, builder and developer financing, commercial banking, and SBA lending.  Jennifer’s background provides her a holistic view on finance, which lends to her inventiveness in SBA lending.

Notably, Jennifer served as an underwriter for 10 years, with six of those years in the commercial banking space, exposing her to some of the largest and most complex relationships in the bank.  This hands-on experience provided her with a rare and unique set of skills that now allows Jennifer to deeply understand a business’s needs and, in turn, craft artistic solutions to help them grow, transition and thrive.

Jennifer holds a bachelors of science degree in both finance and management from Portland State University’s School of Business Administration and a Masters in Banking from Pacific Coast Banking School.  In 2017, Jennifer was honored to have been selected by the SBA as the SBA Small Business Champion of the Year for the Portland District.
