Each month we feature a Member Spotlight. This month we're talking with Phil, Owner of Majestic Solutions.

IDA: How did you get into the detailing industry?
Phil Todd (PT): My father, Murray Todd Jr., started an automotive tool distributor business in 1958. In 1993, when I graduated from college, he approached me about a business opportunity. I was detailing vehicles at night and on the weekends, so he asked if I would like to start manufacturing automotive detailing products. The opportunity was huge and exciting for our family, so Majestic Solutions was born.
IDA: Please tell us about your business.
PT: Majestic Solutions has been in business for 26 years and was created by my father, Murray Todd Jr. After two years in business with my brother, Jeff, my dad asked my wife, Tina Todd, and myself to join the company.
From day one we have always strived to bring the best products and services possible to the industry. We custom designed and built our “state of the art” 26,000# 20ft box trucks specifically for detailing products & services.
My father always had the tools that the mechanics required in stock. Technicians and customers could always depend on our father’s service supply truck to be on time and have the tools and knowledge for their task.
Majestic Solutions carries on the business model of absolute quality products and services our father, Murray Todd Jr., instilled in us. Our father, a WWII vet passed away on July 14th 2016 at the age of 91. He is dearly missed by the entire whole Majestic Solutions team. Our father did not live to see our dream and great success of the C.A.R.E.TECH detail training center to completion in early 2017.
IDA: In what products or services does your company specialize?
PT: Majestic Solutions specializes in the “full spectrum” of chemical cleaning products, including related equipment & our state of the art C.A.R.E.TECH training education facilities: Detailing Industry, Car dealer vehicle service departments & cleaning dept., Tunnel Car washes. We also offer two detailing supply super stores in Charlotte & Raleigh. The Raleigh super store is our brand new flagship, a 6500 sq ft facility with a training center.
IDA: What do you think is the most important factor to being successful in the detailing industry?
PT: Having access to excellent “training” and understanding that education/knowledge is a must when offering professional services to your client
IDA: Are there any awards/certifications/accomplishments that you or your business has earned and would like to share with us?
PT: We have received multiple annual safety awards from the NC dept. of labor. We have also received Business of the Year from our local chamber of commerce. We are Founders Club Members of the IDA and have a IDA Recognized training center located in Raleigh, NC.
IDA: What is the best advice you ever received?
PT: Keep God in your life, always help people & never assume anything.
IDA: What tips do you have for the new detailer? For the experienced detailer?
PT: Keep God in your life, always help people, never assume anything, under promise - over deliver & continue the learn
IDA: Funniest business moment?
PT: On my 50th Birthday the team at work gave me a cake made out of toilet paper, joint pain relief cream, and centrum silver vitamins among other geriatric related items.
IDA: Why did you decide to get involved with the IDA?
PT: Joining the IDA and becoming an IDA recognized training center with our C.A.R.E.TECH training program was the perfect collaboration for offering education and knowledge to those in our industry wanting to better themselves.
IDA: How has your involvement with the IDA affected your business and your career?
PT: Joining the IDA has allowed for us to strengthen our industry through networking and expanded on our ability to offer excellent training & education.
