International Detailing Association (IDA): How long have you been with Shopmonkey? Were you a detailer prior to becoming a supplier?
Patrick Mackenzie (PM): I had my one-year anniversary with Shopmonkey at the beginning of April. I was not a detailer before entering the supplier industry.

IDA: What type of training does your business offer?
PM: At Shopmonkey, our goal is to help every shop thrive, and we are dedicated to the ongoing success of our customers. IDA: What are some of your company’s attributes that make you stand out in the industry?

IDA: What are some of the struggles your company has overcome to get to where it is today?
PM: We are constantly flooded with inbound interest from various verticals. We put a lot of strategic thought into prioritizing our feature requests so that our innovations serve as many shops as possible, while also making sure we remain strategically focused on serving our most popular customer verticals, which includes auto detailing. 

IDA: Why does your company believe it is beneficial to support the IDA?
PM: Shopmonkey can only meet the needs of our customers if we know what’s going on in the industry. By supporting the IDA, we can participate in relevant conversations and better understand the needs of detailing shops to help strategically inform how we support the industry. 

IDA: As a supplier, what changes would you like to see made in the detailing industry?
PM: If you own a detailing shop, we encourage you to proactively follow technology trends and embrace tools to help you run your shop more efficiently. We’ve seen first-hand how it can really make a positive impact on your bottom line and improve your customers’ experience.
