International Detailing Association (IDA): How did you get into the detailing industry?
Adam Garbacz (AG): My passion for detailing began in Germany, and as I traveled through Europe and the United States, I gained valuable experience that I brought to Poland.

IDA: Please tell us your business’s story.
AGIn 2010, I opened my own studio, CleanCar Detailing, which coincided with the growing interest in the industry in Poland.

In 2013, I founded the CleanCar Detailing Academy, an educational academy where I strive to pass on my knowledge and passion for detailing to younger generations.

In 2016, I reached the next stage of my career, becoming the first certified RUPES S.p.A. trainer in Poland (RUPES AUTHORIZED TRAINER). At the event, the 1st European Rupes Seminar in Norway, I met inspiring people from RUPES and world-class detailers such as Jason Rose, CD-SV, RIT (RUPES), Mike Phillips, CD-SV, WC, RIT, (Dr. Beasley's - USA), and Larry Kosilla (AMMO NYC - USA). I started organizing events in Poland, such as BigFoot Rupes Day and RUPES Seminar, where we host outstanding detailers and trainers such as Jason Rose (RUPES - USA), Dirku Du (Ferrari Detailer - Germany), and Fabrizio Gagliardi, CD-SV, RIT (RUPES - Italy).

In 2018, I co-founded the international brand of next-generation coatings CleanCar Coatings, whose motto is to create products with professional detailers in mind.

IDA: In what products or services does your company specialize?
AG: My company specializes in training young detailers in CleanCar Academy. We also produce ceramic protective coatings and run an online store with car cosmetics and detailing accessories. We also sell paint protection film PPF for detailers in Europe.

IDA: What do you think is the most important factor to being successful in the detailing industry?
AG: There are many factors that contribute to success in the detailing industry, but some of the most important include:

Quality of work: Detailing is a service-based industry, and your ability to provide high-quality work is essential for success. This means being proficient in all aspects of detailing, from washing and waxing to applying ceramic coatings and paint protection film. It also means paying attention to detail and ensuring that every car you detail looks its best.

Customer service: Detailing is also about building relationships with your customers. This means being friendly, helpful, and professional. It also means being responsive to their needs and concerns. Word-of-mouth is a powerful marketing tool, so making sure your customers are happy is essential for long-term success.

Marketing and branding: In today's competitive market, you need to be able to reach your target audience and differentiate yourself from your competitors. This means having a strong brand identity and marketing strategy. You should also be active on social media and other online platforms to connect with potential customers.

Business skills: While detailing is a hands-on profession, you also need to have strong business skills to be successful. This includes things like managing your finances, tracking your inventory, and pricing your services effectively.

IDA: Are there any awards/certifications/accomplishments that you or your business has earned and would like to share with us?
AG: I am proud to be a RUPES Authorized Trainer and have a RUPES Authorized Training Center. I also have a MaxShine Authorized Training Center and many certifications from companies in the detailing industry. I am particularly proud that I have opened my own brand of protective coatings. The first functional protective coatings in the world that take into account the type and color of the paint in order to obtain the best possible visual effect.

IDA: What is the best advice you ever received?
AG: One of the best pieces of advice I've ever received is to "always be learning and growing." I am always striving to learn new things and improve my abilities. I believe that continuous learning is essential for success in any industry.

IDA: What tips do you have for the new detailer? For the experienced detailer?
AG: Network with other detailers. Networking is a great way to learn from other professionals, get feedback on your work, and find new business opportunities. Attend detailing events, join online forums and communities, and connect with other detailers on social media.

Become a thought leader. If you want to be respected in the detailing industry, you need to be seen as a thought leader. Share your knowledge and expertise by writing blog posts, giving seminars, and participating in industry events.

IDA: Why did you decide to get involved with the IDA?
AG: In 2016, Jason Rose shared his vision of the IDA as the ideal educational resource for detailers. I was the first member of IDA from Poland. The IDA is a great solution for detailers from all over the world. It offers a wide range of educational resources, including online courses, webinars, and live events. The IDA also provides a community of support for detailers, where they can connect with other professionals and learn from each other.

IDA: How has your involvement with the IDA affected your business and your career?
AG: Joining the IDA's team of trainers has given me a lot of motivation. I am currently writing a guide called, "How to Become a Professional Detailer".
